Learn more about PHSSA

Just a bunch of Public Health Graduate students trying to empower and strengthen our community when we're not studying for stats!

Established in 2013, the Public Health Sciences Student Association (PHSSA) represents all Graduate Students in the Department of Public Health Sciences at Queen's University.

The mission of the PHSSA is to create an environment that fosters a positive student experience.

Through its activities, the PHSSA works to build upon the graduate student community, and develop relationships with faculty, professionals, and alumni. Through its efforts, the PHSSA strives to support graduate students throughout their time at Queen's, while helping them set foot on their paths towards becoming successful researchers and practitioners.

The PHSSA was built on the foundation of strengthening our community in the Queen's Public Health Sciences Department through student engagement, workshops, social events, and communication of resources. Our wide range of students from the MPH, MSc, and PhD programs work together to holster a variety of specializations and skills with a unified goal to improve and lessen the burden of disease in our communities through a population health lens.

All students enrolled in the Department of Public Health Sciences are able to join and participate in events run by the PHSSA. This includes students in the Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Science in Epidemiology (MSc), Master of Science in Epidemiology with Biostatistics (MSc with Biostatistics), and the Doctor of Philosophy in Epidemiology (PhD) programs.
